2013 Scion tC

The Scion tC is a well-built and well-equipped yet affordable coupe from sub brand Scion. The new generation 2013 tC is a lot of improvement over the previous generation of it, it has higher horse power and better gas millage. This sports coupe is targeted toward young people who want to own a good looking car at an affordable price. One of the main USP of this car is: it can be customized according to the taste of the owner.

Interior is quite specious for a compact coupe with good amount of head room and leg room for front passenger and driver. Being a three door compact it requires a little effort to enter the back row after sliding and bending the front seats. Side windows are small for the back row but the moon/sun roof and the large back window allows lots light for the rear passengers. There are decent amount of leg and head room in back row.

Cost cutting is visible on the dashboard; plastics look hard and shiny. Controls are neatly arranged and well placed. The sound system does not look that pricy but it produces impressive sound with 8 speakers. Seats are wider and support its sporty look.

Standard features in the base trim level include keyless entry, air-conditioning, cruise control, full power accessories, 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity and an eight-speaker Pioneer sound system with a CD player. The limited edition of Scion tC RS 8.0 gets different a lowered suspension, an aerodynamic body kit, sport centre exhaust, paddle shifters (automatic transmission) and special interior trim.

Apart from these factory fitted features Scion tC can be upgraded with several features provided by dealer as options.

The 2013 Scion tC comes with safety features like stability and traction control, antilock brakes, front knee airbags, front side airbags and side curtain airbags.

Scion tC does not have the engine of a sports car but the 2.5 Litre 180 horse power (20 more horse power than its predecessors) engine is decent enough for city driving with decent fuel economy; 23mpg in the city and 31mpg on the highway. The inline-4 engine produces 173 pound-feet of torque. A 6 speed transmission is standard and an option of 6 speed automatic transmission is available. The manual one can reach 0-60mph in just 7.6 seconds while with automatic transmission it achieves 0-60 in 8.3 seconds.

The cargo area of the Scion tC is another notable advantage of this car. The huge hatch opening makes it practical. The sixty-forty foldable back seats increase the cargo capacity up to a great extent.
