2011 Mitsubishi Galant

For years the Mitsubishi Galant been a value for money family car. But with the time it kept falling behind in its class due to its outdated look and lack of features. In year 2011, Mitsubishi brought many changes in Galant to keep up with the competitors like additional standard features for the premium SE trim and a new silver-painted mesh grille as well as a half-inch reduction in ride height.

The 2011 Mitsubishi Galant is available only in two trim level, ES and SE. Standard features on the ES include full power accessories, air-conditioning, a tilt-only steering wheel, 16-inch steel wheels, cruise control, driver-seat height adjustment and a six-speaker stereo with CD player and auxiliary audio jack. The SE adds foglights, a back-up camera, heated mirrors, a rear spoiler, 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, color LCD screen, dual illuminated vanity mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, multiway-way adjustable power driver seat, heated front seats, Bluetooth, navigation system and an eight-speaker Rockford Acoustic Design audio system with six-CD changer and satellite radio. In year 2011 Galant SE gets new features like power sunroof, auto-dimming rearview mirror and a programmable garage door opener. There are many other stand alone optional features available for the new Mitsubishi Galant. Standard safety features include antilock brakes, stability control, front side airbags and side curtain airbags.

The 2011 Mitsubishi Galant is available with only one engine choice, that is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a four-speed automatic transmission with Mitsubishi’s Sportronic system. The 2.4-liter engine makes decent 160 horsepower and 157 lb-ft of torque averaging around 21 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway and 24 mpg combined.

The interior gets few modifications in new Mitsubishi Galant like more sound insulation and a refreshed dash. The quality of material used in the cabin is of fairly good quality. It is roomy with comfortable and supportive seats. A dead pedal is provided and positioned well for drivers left leg. Visibility is good all around, notably to the rear quarters, thanks to slim C-pillars. The controls on the dashboard are well placed and easy to use. Keyless-entry controls are integrated into the key. The quality of materials is quite good.
