2010 Toyota Matrix

The Toyota Matrix is a sporty crossover based on the now Corolla platform with all-new interior. Matrix is available in seven trim level, Matrix Base 5-Spd MT, Matrix Base 4-Spd AT, Matrix S 5-Spd MT, Matrix S 5-Spd AT, Matrix S AWD 4-Spd AT, Matrix XRS 5-Spd MT and Matrix XRS 4-Spd AT with two engine options.

The Toyota Matrix base model comes with the 1.8liter DOHC 16-valve dual independent VVT-i 4-cylinder engine that produces 132 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 128lb-ft of torque at 4400 rpm. With the five-speed manual, the Matrix gets 26mpg in the city and 32mpg on the highway with a slight decrease with the four-speed automatic to 25mpg in the city and 31mpg on the highway respectively.

The Toyota Matrix S and Matrix XRS come with the 2.4Liter DOHC 16-valve VVT-i 4-cylinder engine that produces 158 horsepower, 26 horsepower over the 1.8L engine and an extra 34 lb.-ft of torque. Fuel consumption drops from the 1.8L engine at 21mpg in the city and 28mpg on the highway with the five-speed manual and 21mpg in the city and 29mpg on the highway. The S also comes in an all-wheel drive model (S AWD 4-Spd AT) that comes standard with the four-speed automatic. The fuel consumption drops to 20mpg in the city and 26mpgon the highway respectively.
Standard features in Toyota Matrix are air conditioning w filter, tilt steering column, power steering, AM/FM/CD with four speakers, 115-volt power outlet, 60/40 split rear seats, power windows, power mirrors, power door locks, intermittent wipers, outside temperature gauge, remote keyless entry with remote tailgate release, cargo nets and track system with tie-down hooks, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob and rear-window defogger with timer.
All models come standard with safety equipments such as an anti-lock brake system with electronic brake-force distribution with Brake assist, vehicle stability control with traction control, front airbags for both the driver and passenger as well as seat-mounted side airbags, active headrests and front and rear side curtain airbags and direct tire pressure monitor system.

The new Toyota Matrix is sportier, sexier, with phenomenal cargo space. It offers plenty of headroom for tall drivers and passengers. The upright sitting stance that allows for easy access and comfortable all-over visibility. There is 15 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. The rear seat is split 60/40 and pressing a button flips the seat down to provide a completely flat floor capable of holding 53 cubic feet of cargo. Storage compartments and cargo nets provide owners with maximum utility. Front passenger seat also can be folded down.
