2011 GMC Terrain

The Terrain also comes standard with front-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is optional across the board. With the six speed automatic transmission the Terrain achieves 22 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway and with AWD it comes down to 20 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.

An optional 3.0-liter V6 engine is available with SLE 2 and SLT 1 that produces 264 horsepower and 222 lb-ft of torque. It achieves 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway with front-wheel drive and 17mpg in the city and 20mpg on the highway with all-wheel drive.

Standard equipment on the SLE1 (base) includes foglights, tinted windows, heated mirrors, 17-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, auto-dimming rearview mirror, a backseat with sliding and reclining features, six-way adjustable driver seat, tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, rearview camera, OnStar and a six-speaker sound system with a CD player, auxiliary audio jack, iPod/USB interface and satellite radio.

The SLE2 adds automatic climate control, an eight-way power driver seat, roof rails, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, upgraded cloth upholstery, Bluetooth and an eight-speaker Pioneer sound system. The Convenience package adds heated front seats and remote engine start. The SLT2 gets rear parking sensors, a power tailgate (with adjustable maximum height), chrome exterior trim, driver memory functions and a sunroof.

Standard features includes front side airbags, antilock brakes, stability and traction control, side curtain airbags, a rearview camera and OnStar. Rear parking sensors are optional.

Though The 2011 GMC Terrain is called compact crossover, it is larger than average compact crossover. Evev if you are a six plus you have enough space. It has got decent loading space, the sliding back seats slide forward to make a larger load space.

The GMC Acadia is a midsize crossover SUV that has three rows of seats, a good driver seat view of the road, generous cargo room, commendable road manners and pleasing V6 power. The Acadia’s fuel economy rating was 18 miles per gallon in city driving and 26 mpg on the highway.

Three trim levels are offered: SLE, SLT1, and SLT2. All are available in front- or all-wheel-drive configurations. The only Acadia engine is a 275-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 with variable valve timing with 6-speed, automatic transmission that gets power to the wheels quickly, particularly in the low gears. Maximum torque rating is 251 lb-ft at 3200, and some 90 percent of the peak torque can be had between 1500 rpm and 5800 rpm.
