Ferrari 458 Italia

The Ferrari 458 Italia is the replacement for F430 but faster, bigger and better in everyway. The 458 Italia has much improved design to be more aerodynamic and stable on the road. 458 Italia is a ideal combination of performance, look, technology and pleasure.

The 458 Italia gets a all new refined mid-mounted 4.5-litre V8 CVT 32-Valve engine, producing massive 570 horsepower at 9,000 rpm and touches 0-60mph in less than 3.4sec, a top speed beyond 200mph. Power is delivered through an automated dual-clutch seven-speed transmission. The gearshifts from the new transmission are crisp and very smooth.

Aerodynamics play a big role in the performance of the 458 Italia. The winglets on the lower grilles bend in the airflow at high speeds and direct more air under the car to keep the car stable on the road. The controls on the steering wheel allows the driver to adjust the transmission and chassis electronics, configuration of the engine, including the traction control, differential, stability control, damper and braking systems. The revised suspension provides more accurate wheel articulation.

The 458 Italia is packed with latest technology and features including remote trunk release, keyless entry operated via key fob, front dual reclining bucket seats integral headrests, independent multi-link rear suspension with springs and shock absorbers, magnetorheological suspension control automatic adaptive variable suspension, independent double wishbone front suspension with springs and shock absorbers, steering wheel mounted controls, etc.

2010 Ferrari California

The California is packed with latest technology like dual clutch transmission, multi-link suspension. The Ferrari California is offered as a single model with the opportunity to customize the car. Technically this is completely different to the F1 system of previous Ferraris, though in practice the operation is very similar. There are paddle shifts for manual changes and an auto button.

Regular wheels are 19 inchers with 20 inch as an option. Tire widths are the same for both sizes, 245/40 front and 285/35 rear. The optional Manettino suspension gives three chassis settings instead of one. Another notable option is the set of three tailored leather cases to maximize storage space. The multi-link rear suspension is designed to provide a compliant ride.

The Ferrari California features a 4.3 liter V8 engine producing 453 horsespower at 7750 rpm, with the maximum torque of 357lb-ft. Direct gas injection, offers improved low-down torque but more importantly it’s Ferrari’s first nod towards the rapidly increasing importance of emissions and fuel economy. The California achieves average 17.9 mpg, a 15 percent improvement over the F430. The optional double clutch transmission gets seven instead of six gears. All the power goes through the rear wheels.

The Ferrari California interior can compete with any luxury car with fluid curves, double-stitched leather and that steering wheel. Front row has got enough space for the driver and passenger to be comfortable. But the rear row is almost unusable for adults. The fold down rear backrest increases the turnk space. The folding metal roof works well.
