The Toyota Matrix is a sporty crossover based on the now Corolla platform with all-new interior. The Toyota Matrix S and Matrix XRS come with the 2.4Liter DOHC 16-valve VVT-i 4-cylinder engine that produces 158 horsepower, 26 horsepower over the 1.8L engine and an extra 34 lb.-ft of torque. Fuel consumption drops from the 1.8L engine at 21mpg in the city and 28mpg on the highway with the five-speed manual and 21mpg in the city and 29mpg on the highway. The S also comes in an all-wheel drive model (S AWD 4-Spd AT) that comes standard with the four-speed automatic. The fuel consumption drops to 20mpg in the city and 26mpgon the highway respectively.

The rear seat is split 60/40 and pressing a button flips the seat down to provide a completely flat floor capable of holding 53 cubic feet of cargo. Storage compartments and cargo nets provide owners with maximum utility. Front passenger seat also can be folded down.
