2011 Cadillac DTS

The latest Cadillac DTS remains true to its heritage while offering a level of sophistication that keeps it reasonably current, a traditional Cadillac for the traditional Cadillac buyer.

2011 cadillac dts 2011 cadillac dts

2011 cadillac dts

The DTS lags behind in terms of top-quality materials, precision build quality, handling dynamics and, for many, a perceived level of prestige. it still offers very clean and luxurious styling.

Terms

heritage, traditional, quality, handling, dynamic, prestige, luxury, engine, power, control, stabilizer, quick, performance

The Cadillac DTS luxury sedan is available in four trim levels, Base, Luxury, Premium and Platinum – although all are well equipped. The standard model comes with 17-inch wheels, front foglights, sepearte climate control for passenger and driver, Bluetooth, an eight-speaker stereo system, OnStar free for 12 months, remote engine start, and xenon headlights.

The Premium model adds style grille, power front seats with massagers built in, burled walnut accents in the interior, a wood-trimmed steering wheel, a built-in navigation system, and telescopic steering. The Platinum model adds a more powerful engine, Magnetic Ride Control, 18-inch wheels, and a leather accented dash, and a faux-suede headliner, blind spot warning systems, and lane-departure systems.

Front suspension is an independent MacPherson strut design with sizable stabilizer bar, while the rear uses an independent multi-link design and stabilizer bar.

The base, 4.6-liter double overhead cam engine generates 275 horsepower at a lower, 5200 rpm now. Torque is a healthy 292 lb-ft at 4400 rpm for noticeably quick get up and go. But the uplevel V8 that comes with the performance package has more horsepower—291. Peak torque is 286 lb-ft at 4400 rpm and came on smartly—and always smoothly. Fuel economy isn’t great in this big-sedan segment, and the DTS is estimated to carry a rating of 17 miles a gallon in city driving and 27 mpg on the highway. This is a bit less than the 18/25 mpg of the LS 430.

Title › 2011 Cadillac DTS

The Cadillac DTS has good room for three adults at the rear row to sit back there without them having to squeeze. The middle passenger, however, has a slight hump to contend with in the middle of the rear floor and also doesn’t have a height adjustable head restraint. The trunk opening is nice and wide, but the trunk seems a bit shallow and total cargo room is less than the 21 cubic feet in the Town Car.

The Cadillac DTS is loaded with the latest technology. This is a rational luxury car, easy to operate in addition to being large and luxurious. Other standard DTS safety equipment includes anti-lock brakes, stability control, six airbags and improved structural reinforcements.

Buick Lucerne

The Buick Lucerne is one of Buick’s newest models. The Base Lucerne has Buick’s polished pushrod 3.8-liter V6 engine, which produces 197 horsepower and acceptable acceleration.

2011 buick lucerne2011 buick lucerne

2011 buick lucerne

The CX has 16-inch wheels and is available with front bucket seats or an optional front bench. The midrange Lucerne CXL V6 only comes with front bucket seats and leather seating material, along with 17-inch wheels. The Buick Lucerne has leather seats, 18-inch wheels and a more sophisticated suspension.

Terms

polished, engine, sophisticated, suspension, firm, control, standard, spacious, layout, comfortable, safety

The Magnetic Variable Assist steering in the CXS and CXL V8 is precise, with the right amount of firmness. Anti-lock brakes and traction control are standard on all Lucernes. The Buick Lucerne CXS also has standard Magnetic Ride Control, a StabiliTrak anti-skid system and Brake Assist, optional for the CXL V8. Estimated fuel economy is 19 mpg in the city and 28 on highways with the V6 and 17 and 25 with the V8.

The Lucerne’s interior is spacious, and features a comfortable ergonomic layout. The Lucerne seats five and with an optional front bench seat can seat six. Seats are comfortable for many but some might find them too flat. All Lucerne trim levels have a good amount of comfort, convenience and safety equipment, including six airbags.

Title › 2011 Buick Lucerne

The Lucerne has Buick‘s traditional grille and a smooth modern look. Fit and finish of Lucerne body panels and trim pieces in the interior is good. Wide doors with large, elegant chromed handles allow easy entry to the church-quiet interior, which has understated elegance and limousine-style room in the rear. Buick Lucerne seats are comfortable and especially supportive when taking curves in the CXS.

The big trunk has a low liftover, but its lid uses old-style manual hinges instead of hydraulic struts. The hood raises easily on such a strut, and the trunk lid will be opened much more than the hood.

Bentley Continental GTC

Bentley Continental GTC is a all wheel drive convertible.

2010 bentley continental gtc

It’s a high-performance drop top that manages to provide every bit of luxury you’d expect in a traditional Bentley, only now with more attitude and agility. The GTC is fairly new, getting such items as a newly designed Breitling clock and optional back-up camera and three-spoke sports steering wheel. The list price for the 2008 model edges up to $193,990.

The GTC is derived from the Bentley Continental GT coupe, which arrived for 2004. That fast, glamorous car was the first major Bentley hit after Volkswagen bought the automaker. The Bentley Continental GTC looks different from the Continental GT, with its compact soft top and a rear deck designed to accommodate the lowered top. The GTC has a new rear suspension that lets the car’s rear design be fairly compact while still providing space to stow the top. The Bentley Continental GTC is large, and its long. There’s good room up front in multi-adjustable supportive seats.

The triple-layer top electrohydraulically lowers in 25 seconds at the push of a button and provides an extremely quiet interior when raised. The handcrafted interior really stands out with its classic mix of leather hides and wood veneers.

The Bentley Continental GTC’s large, twin-turbocharged 12-cylinder engine gives it the sizzling acceleration of a sports car. The 48-valve engine with four camshafts and variable valve timing produces 552 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque at only 1,600 rpm. The 0-60 mph time is merely 4.8 seconds, and the GTC can hit 100 mph in 11.6 seconds. Top speed reportedly is 195 mph with the top up, or 190 with it lowered. The car’s 6-speed automatic transmission is responsive and has an easily used manual-shift feature.

Title › 2010 Bentley Continental GTC

The steering is precise, with good road feel, and the ride is on the firm side, but supple. The brake pedal has a progressive action and controls huge disc brakes that easily slow the GTC from high speeds. With all that weight and horsepower, Bentley Continental GTC only delivers an estimated 11 mpg in the city, although it provides a generally respectable 18 mpg on highways.

Safety features include an advanced rollover protection system beneath the rear headrests. Two reinforced steel hoops, which work with a strong windshield frame, are deployed n a split second if a computer senses the car is about to roll during an accident.

Aston Martin DBS

Aston Martin has been making car with futuristic look since quite long. Aston designed the DBS from the onset with open-air motoring in mind,

and with the top up, “Volante” the convertible version of Aston Martin DBS keeps the coupe’s sleek profile mostly intact. The roof can be raised or lowered in 14 seconds at speeds of up to 30 mph. Compared with the fixed-roof car, the convertible is about 200 pounds heavier and 25 percent less rigid.

Aston Martin DBS has it’s top speed at nearly 190 mph. It takes four seconds to reach zero to sixty. The convertible is largely unchanged from the hardtop,

including the standard six-speed manual and optional automatic transmission — the latter fitted with a sport mode and column-mounted paddle shifters — two-stage adaptive dampers, carbon-ceramic disc brakes, and gorgeous 20-inch wheels.

Even at very high speed the ride quality of the Aston Martin DBS is an aural delight and satisfyingly responsive. Even in sport mode, the ride is firm but never feels shaky. Both versions, the Aston Martin DBS Coupe and Aston Martin DBS Volante fitted with 6.0 liter V12 48-Valve, 4/OHC, SEFI engine yielding 510 horsepower.

The huge brakes bring everything to a halt with stunning capability.

The safety features include airbags with dual stage deployment for both driver and front passenger, parking aid with ultrasonic sensors, trunk anti-trap device, etc. All exterior bits — including carbon-fiber accents, hood, fenders, and trunklid. Lightweight, 10-spoke wheels in place of the standard 20-spoke alloys are the only major option.

Acura ZDX

The Acyra ZDX coupe like shaped crossover.

2011 acura zdx

it stands out among today’s sport utility vehicles. It’s the best looking vehicle in Acura’s lineup. The uniquely styled ZDX brings plenty of technology to the table, as well as an excellent Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system.

The Acura ZDX built on the MDX platform, comes in a 5-door configuration. The rear doors open up into a reasonably sized seating area, and a large hatch allows for easy access to the cargo area. Storage space is noticeably compromised compared to the MDX.

The base model “6-Spd AT” is equiped with a leather interior, power-adjustable front seats and dual-zone climate control. The Technology Package adds features like keyless entry, push-button start and a navigation system with voice recognition. The ZDX Advance Package adds adaptive cruise control, an adaptive damper system and speed-sensitive steering.

The Acyra ZDX 6-Spd AT is equiped with a 3.7 liter V6 engine producing 300 horsepower and 270 lbft torque with a fule economy 16mpg in city and 23mpg in highway, the 6-Spd AT Technology Package and the 6-Spd AT Advance Package has the same 3.7 liter V6 engine with same fuel economy. That much of power for a four-wheel drive crossover is quite adequate.

Title › 2011 Acura ZDX

Acura’s 6-speed automatic transmission adopts gear ratios specifically designed for the ZDX, and the smooth-shifting unit’s efficiency helps return those decent fuel economy numbers, but with all the other luxury automakers now offering seven and even eight-speed units, Acura seems behind the times. The company calls the manual actuation SportShift.

The interior in the ZDX is one of Acura’s best. The cargo area features side panels that can be niftily detached, allowing for such long objects. The Advance Package includes ELS premium audio, Bluetooth phone and streaming audio, backup camera, and navigation with traffic and weather updates.

Volkswagen Rabbit

The Volkswagen Rabbit is a small vehicle with front-wheel-drive chassis, high build quality and incredible space efficiency.

New Volkswagen rabbit

The heighlights of Rabbits are fuel-efficiency and cabin space. In 1985, the Rabbit was renamed to Golf moniker, which was what the car had always been called in Europe.

The new Volkswagen Rabbit has more muscular styling, and Volkswagen is betting that the Rabbit name will allow catchy advertising and lure back folks who owned one of the old Rabbits. The Rabbit was the first Volkwagen made in America, from 1978 to 1984. The new Rabbit is built in Wolfsburg, Germany.

The Volkswagen Rabbit is offered with either a 5-speed manual or responsive 6-speed automatic transmission. Estimated fuel economy with both manual and automatic is 22 mpg in the city and 30 on the highway. Only regular-grade fuel is needed. The Volkswagen Rabbit is quiet and solidly built. The car comes with two or four doors. Wheels are pushed to the far corners of its aerodynamic body, which rides on a 101.5-inch wheelbase for more interior space.

The Volkswagen Rabbit comes with air conditioning, an AM / FM / CD with MP3 capability, cruise control, a tilt / telescoping wheel, manually adjustable front seats, a split-folding rear seat and power windows, mirrors and locks with remote keyless entry.

Toyota Corolla

The new Toyota Corolla is redesigned, but still it looks soo much like the old model. The Toyota Corolla is available as a four-door sedan in five different trims:

Standard,LE, XLE, S and XRS. The new body was drawn up with a lower profile and a sleeker look, featuring more angular A- and C-pillars. A wider track delivers improved aerodynamics and stability, and increases interior volume. The up-model S and XRS add sporty look with a more aggressive front bumper treatment, integrated fog lights, side skirts, a lip spoiler and an upgraded rear fascia.

The 2009 Toyota Corolla is offered with two engine varient in terms of power, an all-new 132-horsepower 1.8-liter four cylinder, and a 158-horsepower four that displaces 2.4 liters. In the Toyota Corolla, Standard, LE and XLE versions comes with a 1.8-liter unit with options of a five-speed manual

or four-speed automatic transmission. The S and XRS trims powered with a 2.4-liter engine that can be coupled with a five-speed manual or five-speed automatic gearbox. The 2.4-liter is optional on S trims and standard on the XRS.

The quality of the interior materials and the Corolla‘s overall fit and finish are excellent. On the safety front, the 2009 Toyota Corolla features six strategically placed airbags, and an innovative active front-seat head restraint system that provides additional whiplash protection. Other safety features include a tire-pressure-monitoring system, available traction control, anti-lock brakes (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution, and “Brake Assist” for emergency situations.

The new Toyota Corolla feels far more upscale than previous models. The driving position and outward visibility are immediately noticeable. The functionality and the overall quietness of the cabin at speed put the Toyota Corolla at the top of its segment.

The XRS was the most engaging model with its 158 horsepower, manual transmission. Steering feedback is adequate, and the XRS is responsive as long as the engine is kept in the wide portion of its powerband. The sporty S and XRS models does not have the most powerful engine but decent enough.
