Used van buying guide
One of the first things to consider when buying a vehicle is if it is new or used and is it within your budget. Setting a budget is usually based on your current financial circumstances and what you wish to use the vehicle for. For example if it is for work or for family purposes may have an affect on the amount you are willing to pay. It is also important that once you have set a budget that performs the following checks in order to get the best deal.
Pricing
When buying a new van, the price is not defined by a RRP (recommended retail price) instead the cost will be dependant on wear and tear, number of miles on the clock, whether it has been used for business or private use (this will usually have a big effect on the previous two aspects). Another aspect you should study is what similar models are selling for, both new and used as this will give you a better indication of whether or not you are getting a good deal. Search online and in used car magazines to get a better idea of what you expect to pay. Don’t rush in and buy the first thing you see, look around first and even if you do go back to the first van you seen at least you’ve done your research.
Vehicle condition
The best way to see how the van performs is to take it out on a test drive. This will enable you to see how it handles and whether it is functioning properly. You can test the wear and tear on stuff like the brakes (perform an emergency stop to see how well they work, if the brakes grind it could mean the brake pads are pretty worn), how smooth the gears are, by slowly releasing the clutch you can see if they are bearing. Also check the tyres to see if they are a legal level and how much they have been worn. Finally check the engine, if you are not to sure who to look for take it to a garage in order to get a professional look as this is a very important aspect.
Check the paperwork
Make sure it is all legal and that everything matches up, for example does the Vehicle Identification Number match up to the car. It is very important you inspect this before you sign anything!

ABS Brakes Operation
Typical ABS Brakes or Anti-Lock Braking System is composed of three components:
›› Electronic Control Unit ›› Wheel Speed Sensors ›› Two or more Hydraulic Valves within the brake hydraulics. The Control Unit constantly monitors the speed sensors. It is meant to detect decelerations that are unusual. There will be rapid deceleration in th

e wheel right before it locks up. The wheel that locks up could stop spinning instantaneously Without ABS Brakes.
On the other hand, in a vehicle with ABS Brakes, the ABS controller understands that such rapid deceleration is impossible. So, it reduces the pressure to the brake until acceleration is detected, then it increases the pressure until a deceleration is detected again. It can do this at a very fast rate, before the tire can actually significantly change speed. This eventually leads to the tire to slow down at the same rate as the car, with the brakes keeping the car on the threshold of a lock-up. This gives the system maximum braking power.
Brake Pedal “Pulsation” is normal during the operation of ABS Brakes. The driver is required to keep the pressure on the brake pedal hard enough even under the pulsations. The pulsations may be quite violent, but this is normal. In an emergency stop in a car with ABS Brakes, the driver should apply the brake firmly and hold it while ABS does its work.
ABS Brakes have been introduced in the higher end model of Mahindra Xylo, the E8, on basis of customer feedback and suggestions. Depending on the demand, this feature may be introduced in other variants of Xylo too.
ABS Brakes makes Xylo an even safer vehicle to drive.

What You Should Never Do With Biodiesel
Several individuals are seeking to figure out how they have the ability to utilize Biodiesel fuel in place gasoline fuel that our cars require. The increase in fuel prices is forcing individuals to rethink certain things and they are trying urgently to save money. Other reasons individuals are thinking about utilizing Biodiesel is to help them spare the environment.
Biodiesel fuel is quite favorable to the environment because it uses reused cooking and vegetable oil, and animal fats. This means that it does not let go of harmful chemicals into the air. Instead it burns clean into the air and does not harm us or the plants and animals. In order to use this form of fuel without any problems you need to learn a couple of essential things.
The quality of the fuel that you use is very crucial and needs to meet the specifications set up by ASTM. If you are going to purchase the fuel from somebody make a point to know that they have a BQ9000 accreditation.
It is best to use B1 and B2 with an ultra low sulfur diesel. This serves to give it the lubrication that makes it easy to use. There are some states that will sell it in B1 to B5. There is ordinarily no difference in these.
You can always blend the different forms all the way to B20 as long as you are utilizing the right equipment. Ensure that there are no adjustments made to it. Using this kind may switch the torque, fuel consumption, and horsepower in a negative way – but it might be tricky to notice.
Any extra homemade Biodiesel fuel that you have should be stored in 10 degrees Fahrenheit. You should never keep it longer then six months. During the summertime it will only keep for four months. The tanks that they are put in should not be kept in direct sunshine or set in spots where it is able to be frozen.
Car Maintenance – Breakdown prevention
Maintaining a car is very important, the best way is to be proactive rather than reactive if you follow these simple steps it will ensure your car is in ‘better shape’ and will help prevent any future problems which can be caused by carelessness and lack of attention to detail. By doing regular checks on your vehicle it will help prevent small problems occurring which can lead to other problems with your car.
3 simple checks
Below are three commonly over looked checks which if done regularly will help ensure you have less problems with your car and will help you identify any thing wrong with the car before it escalates.
Check the Oil
To check the engine oil, first ensure your car is parked on a level surface, then turn the engine off completely. Using the engine oil dipstick to check the level (firstly give it a wipe so you can read the level correctly) insert the dipstick into the oil, making sure it goes all the way in, You can then read the level at which the oil is, it should be near to the full mark in which there is no problem, regular check ups should ensure you never let it get to a low level. If your oil level is low, ideally using the same oil as before pour a small amount in and let it settle, again parked on a level surface to ensure it is accurate then use the dipstick to check the level again.
Tire pressure
Checking the tire pressure is very important. The pressure should be checked at least once a month, many garages now offer the facility and you will find the correct tire pressure for your vehicle in your owner’s manual. As well as checking tire pressure it is also worth changing your tires on a regular basis, remember to rotate your tires to ensure they all wear equally. Uneven tire wear can cause alignment problems in which can lead to bigger problems such suspension problems and poor handling.
Body care
Taking regular care of the cars body will help prevent damage such as rust and general wear and tear which can lead to bigger problems. To prevent this wash your car regular, ideally using a pressure washer or going to a car wash. In addition to this wax your car to ensure the paint stays glossy and protects it from fading. Most importantly use rust proofing which will prevent rust building up which can then spread into other areas such as the engine.
Safety Issues in Mobile Towers
Some projects require you climbing up to a certain height, to do this mobile towers can be used as these are much safer than ladders or many other solutions. A mobile tower is effectively a platform that lifts up to the desired height where you are free to work.
Although a mobile tower might be safer than a ladder that s not suggesting that it s completely risk free. In fact mobile towers are potentially lethal if they are not treated with respect. The good news is that as long as you are sen

There are risks when using a mobile tower; however there are plenty of things that you can do to reduce these risks and make them less of a problem. Talking to universal and finding the right machine for the j ob is the first step. The type of machine will depend on a number of factors including the terrain, road network, obstacles and power lines. This can be difficult for anyone to do, which is why a site survey from universal will help you to decide. They will visit your site for free and inspect it, on the same day you will receive a writ ten quote detailing what you need and exactly how much it will cost.
Safety is the most important consideration for everyone, as long as you spend time thinking about it you should be able to minimise the potential hazards and make the whole process much safer. If you have the right tools for the job then you should find it much easier to get on with your project without putting yourself at risk.

Processes and characteristics of steel
Posted by Alexander in Other Car Articles on June 29th, 2009
Stainless steel is an alloy based on iron, which combines together the mechanical properties of steels and some specific features of corrosion resistance. These alloys are also liable to tarnish.
This means that they have the possibility to passivate, that means to get covered with an invisible layer of oxides that protects the underlying metal from corrosive attacks. Stainless steel is the name given to a type of steel with high chromium contents that thanks to this feature does not rust whe

It is thanks to the technology of high-frequency welding that in the stainless steel pipe, the heat affected zone and known as the most sensitive to corrosion, has been reduced by section and then, for the same alloy, it provides a lower propensity to oxidation on the surface.
Stainless steel is still refined and adapted to the demands of various industries like petroleum, petrochemical, mining, energy, nuclear, food and obviously building. A lot of machines are built with parts made of steel, from pipes to sheet to steel trolleys. For over 70 years stainless steel is used for external cladding of buildings. Thanks to the advances in processing and finishing technologies of stainless steel, the architects now have a wide range of high quality and high resistance stainless steel. This is also thanks to the characteristics of steel, a highly ductile, flexible and easily adaptable material. And that can be recycled and reused an infinite number of times, making it an important material for the future and for a sustainable economy.
While abroad, the use of stainless steel in cladding facades of the buildings is quite common, in Italy the use of stainless steel is more limited.
